F1 | Ferrari, four "Development Drivers" for the 2023 season

The 2023 Formula 1 season is upon us and the Scuderia Ferrari is ready to face it not only with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz but also with four excellent drivers who will fill the roles of Reserve and Development Driver.

On the track and in the simulator. A modern Formula 1 team needs to be able to count on a group of drivers to compete at the highest level. A Reserve Driver will be present at each race, a role in which they will alternate Antonio Giovinazzi e Robert Schwartzman who, to make the most of the potential of the new simulator active since last year, will support the very capable couple in the role of Development Driver Antonio Fuoco e Davide rigon. These are expert guys who know how to give precise and reliable feedback to the engineers, especially since track tests are extremely limited, simulation has become a fundamental tool not only for the preparation of each race but also for the development of the car itself.

Everyone on the track. To ensure that all the Scuderia's drivers do not lose contact with the tracks and racing atmospheres, this season each of the four will also be involved in a competitive programme. Giovinazzi and Fuoco will both be involved in the WEC at the wheel of the 499P – Hypercar number 50 for Fuoco and 51 for Giovinazzi – while Robert and Davide will compete in the new 296 GT3. Shwartzman will be among the protagonists of the SRO GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup championship, while Rigon, in addition to the SRO series, will participate in the WEC and the four rounds of the Endurance Cup of the IMSA championship.
