F1 | Liberty hopes for a new contract with Silverstone

The owners of Formula 1 hope to be able to reach a new agreement with the BRDC (British Racing Driver's Club) to still have the English stage in the FIA calendar.

In fact, this year will be the last of the contract between Silverstone and Formula 1 and for Liberty Medium, not having the English circuit on the calendar could be a serious loss.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, the CEO of Liberty Media, Chase carey, admitted he wants a new deal signed before 2020:

“Silverstone is a precious race, we appreciate what it has meant to the fans. We are engaged with them to see where we can go. Historically this has always been a sport that loved public speaking, now we do the opposite: first we speak in private and then we address the public. We will continue to do what we think is the right thing but, we are committed to Silverstone."
