F1 – Spanish GP: the starting grid

Here is the starting grid for the Formula 1 Spanish GP. All Mercedes front row with Nico Rosberg ahead of teammate and world championship leader Lewis Hamilton. Third position on the grid for Sebastian Vettel with Ferrari ahead of Valtteri Bottas' Williams.

Third row all Toro Rosso with Carlos Sainz ahead of Max Verstappen, fourth row for Kimi Raikkonen with the other Ferrari and Daniil Kvyat with the Red Bull. Felipe Massa (Williams) and Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) close the top 10.

Outside the top 10 were the two Lotuses of Romain Grosjean and Pastor Maldonado, in 11th and 12th position respectively. Still negative qualifying for the two McLaren Hondas: Fernando Alonso is 13th, Jenson Button 14th. Force India also did poorly with Nico Hulkenberg 17th and Sergio Perez 18th.
