F1 | AlphaTauri, Yuki Tsunoda: “I have no experience in the wet”

Good performance in FP1 for Yuki Tsunoda, who closed the session in fifth position, behind teammate Gasly, second. The Faenza team, in view of the rain expected for FP2, modified its work programme, opting for short runs which brought the two AT02s to the top of the standings. However, the new program focused little on adjusting the set-up with the car, and Yuki, the only one to take to the track in the afternoon, did not immediately feel at ease on the soft tires to set a fast lap: he finished in fifteenth position.

“I'm quite satisfied with this day. In the first session we saw that we have pace in the short runs and I was certainly able to set some good times – said the Japanese – However, during the long runs in PL2 I struggled a bit with the balance of the car, so that's something I'll need to work on tonight. It could rain tomorrow, but honestly I would prefer it to stay dry because I don't have much experience in wet conditions in F1 and it would be more complicated for me. If we run in the dry, I'll just have to put everything together and build my confidence during the session".
