F1 | AlphaTauri, Pierre Gasly: ​​“We can do better”

Pierre Gasly finishes the first day of free practice in Zandvoort in seventh position. The Frenchman stopped half a second from the fastest lap set by Charles Leclerc, a few thousandths away from the McLaren of Lando Norris, eighth. In the first session Gasly stopped in tenth place. Despite the good results, the driver from the Faenza team is convinced he can do even better with his AT02.

"I have to say that today was really fun, this is an incredible track, definitely unique, especially turn 3: it's like sliding in a toboggan, with banking – Pierre said – there were several interruptions with red flags, but we still managed to complete most of our program today. We didn't go as well as we would have liked, but tonight we will work hard to bring out a little more performance ahead of tomorrow. I am convinced that we can do it. I think the traffic in Q1 could be a problem, so I have to try to stay out of trouble. Looking at the race, it will be very difficult to overtake, so the priority is to get a good starting position".
