F1 | AlphaTauri, Gasly breathes a sigh of relief: “Much better than Friday”

After yesterday's pessimism, Pierre Gasly is certainly more serene. In qualifying for the United States Grand Prix the AlphaTauri driver ranked ninth, but will start from eighth due to Bottas' penalty. A nice boost of confidence, given that in free practice the car seemed like a very distant relative of the one admired up until now, and even his words are much more relaxed.

“We can be satisfied with how today went – Gasly said. We have the four top teams ahead of us, so we will start from a good position. Friday was tougher than we expected, but we managed to improve and, with Valtteri's penalty, we will start from eighth position. It's good that we managed to qualify on the medium tyres, so as to have the best option for tomorrow: I think we're in for a tough race for the tyres. We have many strategic options: tonight we need to study the best one to use in the race."
