F1 | AlphaTauri, fourth position for Pierre Gasly: “It wasn't easy”

Pierre Gasly equals his best qualifying of the season – in Azerbaijan – and puts his AlphaTauri in fourth position. The Frenchman and the team from Faenza were not satisfied with the good results of free practice, but worked during the night, and after FP3, to further improve the AT02 in tire management and performance. The results speak for themselves: Gasly will start from the second row tomorrow, alongside the Mercedes of Valtteri Bottas and with the two Ferraris of Leclerc and Sainz behind him.

"I'm extremely happy to have achieved P4 in today's qualifying: it wasn't easy, because in practice we struggled a bit and we lacked a bit of pace – explained the Frenchman – we managed to improve and put together a really good lap when it really mattered and it's nice to be able to start the race on the second row. Doing well in qualifying was important, because tomorrow it will be quite difficult to overtake: today we did a great job. The team has given me a great car and starting so far ahead, I will do everything to achieve a good result".
