F1 | Alfa Romeo, Antonio Giovinazzi enters Q2: "Happy with this result, especially in these circumstances"

He succeeded in the feat, a chimera that he had been chasing since the beginning of the championship: Antonio Giovinazzi managed to achieve the goal of Q2 for the first time during the season. A great result, especially considering the variations: little experience on the circuit for everyone, a car not at top performance and a teammate who will instead start from the last row in nineteenth position. The local driver can consider himself satisfied, but the real feat will consist in realizing this result tomorrow, in the race, and who knows, maybe silencing the market rumors.

"I am very happy with our result, for the whole team – commented Antonio at the end of qualifying – It's the first time we've entered Q2 this year, it was a goal I've been chasing for some time, and to do it in such particular circumstances, with only an hour of free practice behind us on a circuit unknown to me, is special. The car was good from the start, so we are confident we can fight tomorrow. We expect a difficult scenario, due to the weather, but we will do our best. Today we did our best, tomorrow we will give everything and maybe bring home a good result".

Antonio will start the Eifel Grand Prix from fourteenth position, on the seventh row; next to him at the start will be Daniil Kvyat's AlphaTauri.
