F1 | Red Bull, Alex Albon: “There's still a lot to work on, but I'm happy with my qualification”
A good qualification for Alex Albon who on the Nurburgring circuit is unable to keep up with his teammate, now in another league, but at least he comes close, placing himself in fifth position. A big improvement for the Anglo-Thai driver, who in the first part of the championship struggled a bit to keep up with the pace of a super Verstappen. Leclerc also didn't give the Red Bull driver an easy ride, taking fourth place from him at the very end. The two will start together from the third row, for what promises to be a thrilling grand prix on a historic circuit like the Nurburgring.
"I'm happy with my fastest lap in qualifying, but there are still aspects to improve – admitted Albon – even though we didn't have much time to test, the car responded immediately. I liked this format in two days, it feels like being in F2 and F3. obviously, it would have been nice to be in front of Charles, he had a great lap, and we were overtaken right at the end. Fifth position isn't that bad, we can fight from there. We have two Renaults behind us, it won't be easy, we will have to jostle to stay in front of the first corner. We'll see what time holds for us, there are plenty of opportunities to bring home some points".
