F1 | Alesi against children on the grid: "Young people should be shown off, but not in this way"

The former Formula One and Ferrari driver, Jean Alesi, has criticized the new moves carried out by the Liberty Media management, pointing the finger at the "grid kids" and the choice to abolish the umbrellas from the starting grid. According to the Frenchman, in fact, the US organizers made a bad mistake, sgiving the girls a real job which, with strengths and weaknesses, highlighted the female figure. It's right to highlight young kart drivers, but according to the former Ferrari man we needed to find another way to reward all those guys who try to show off in the "junior" categories.

Here are the words of Jean Alesi: "I'm all for the Halo system. It's a shame that the aesthetics of the cars suffer, but the most important thing is the safety of the drivers. On the other hand, however, I am not in favor of the abolition of grid girls and the new project with "grid kids". By doing so we eliminated a well-oiled system that has allowed many women to work. Young people certainly need to be rewarded and showcased, but not in this way."
