Alonso: “Hamilton is more ahead in the title race than in 2007”
Although many predict that Lewis Hamilton's second season in Formula 1 will be more problematic and full of risks than his first, his former teammate Fernando Alonso is not of this opinion: despite recognizing Lewis Hamilton as the favorite for the title Ferrari driver Raikkonen, the former world champion believes that the 23-year-old Briton will be even more at ease in 2008: “After a year you have greater confidence with the tracks and with races in general” – Alonso declared to BBC radio's Five Live – “He is also perfectly aware of the pressure around him and therefore there will be many things capable of giving him an advantage compared to last year”.
In Alonso's opinion, Heikki Kovalainen and Felipe Massa also remain more than legitimate contenders for the 2008 world title.
