Force India still in the points in Canada, with some regrets
Force India placed both cars in the points at the Canadian Grand Prix but the team was hoping for more given the competitiveness of the car. Tonio Liuzzi took ninth position, Adrian Sutil tenth.
Adrian Sutil:
“As with Tonio, it was a particularly difficult race. At the start I was fighting with Kubica and we looked like we could get into the top 5 again, but we collided and I got a puncture. Unfortunately it happened at the first corner and I had to do a full lap to get back to the pits. I lost a lot of time and finished outside the top 10, then I had to fight to pass Hulkenberg and then Schumacher to get back into the points. At the end of the race I knew that Michael had some problems with his tires so I pushed hard to close the gap and passed him at the very last corner to get the last useful point. For sure I'm disappointed because I think we could have picked up some serious points here today but I think I drove well, the car was competitive and we were fast throughout the race."
Tonio Liuzzi:
“It was a tough race and I drove as hard as I could on every lap. The team deserved to get a good result after the hard work they have done this weekend and in the past few weeks in terms of developments. We would have deserved more points in the end, but it's okay, we picked up more points, especially after the last race when we seemed too far behind. Unfortunately we lost a big one of the race when Massa mia closed the door at the first corner. It was a racing accident as Jenson was on the other side and there was nothing else I could do, I was on the inside and held the line. We lost the front wing and I had to change the strategy, but in the end we still picked up some points. The team is pushing hard and we want to confirm the progress we have made with other results. Today we showed that we are strong in the top 10 and, more importantly, we will never give up."
