Williams, Stevens near the third driver seat

While waiting to find out whether Rio Haryanto will be able to raise the funds necessary to win the second Manor Racing seat alongside Pascal Wehrlein, Will Stevens could soon join Williams as third driver in place of Adrian Sutil. The Englishman would in fact like to guarantee himself a place in Formula One regardless of the outcome of the negotiations with Manor and for this reason there would be ongoing discussions with Frank Williams' Scuderia. According to what was reported by the Daily Mail, Stevens would be interested in the role of third driver alongside Felipe Massa and Valter Bottas, joining Lance Stroll in terms of using the Grove simulator.

After the farewells of Susie Wolff (farewell to racing) and Alex Lynn, Williams would find itself with a profoundly different line-up and with several talented young people. Stevens, obviously, would bring his own personal sponsors to the English Scuderia, the same ones that allowed him to earn the Manor seat last season. We will certainly know more in the coming days.
