Sutil returns to Suzuka to remember Bianchi

Just under a year ago he found himself a helpless spectator on the trackside of the fatal accident which months later would take the life of White, who crashed at over 200 km/h into the crane that was removing his Sauber. Adrian Sutil, now a Williams reserve driver, has decided to return to Suzuka for the grand prix scheduled for this weekend.

“There are moments that change you radically, especially if it's the first time you witness something like this up close,” the German told the DPA news agency. “It was a terrible event that I couldn't get out of my head. I don't want to say that it caused me a permanent shock, but it certainly opened my eyes to the risks we run."

“Seeing that track again will make me feel strange sensations, in fact I believe not only myself but also all the people who were directly or indirectly involved that day” – he concluded.
