Ferrari: Domenicali ready to reevaluate his position
Stefano Domenicali has admitted that he would be ready to reevaluate his position at Ferrari if this could help the Maranello team emerge from the current crisis. Despite the good progress from a technical point of view seen in Barcelona, at the moment only Williams, Toro Rosso and Force India have fewer points than Ferrari in the championship standings, following other errors in strategy and reliability during the weekend of the Spanish Grand Prix.
According to F1's commercial rights holder, Bernie Ecclestone, the problem lies precisely within the Scuderia's top management: "I think that with Jean Todt's farewell several steps have been taken backwards" declared the Englishman in Spain.
While Flavio Briatore smiled at those who asked him about Felipe Massa running out of fuel in the final stages of the race: "Fortunately I'm not in charge of Ferrari!".
Domenicali, speaking to RTL, commented as follows: "I don't think I'm the problem, but if necessary I will make room for others".
