The Finn, still without a championship victory, hopes to break the deadlock next season

Williams, Bottas: “In 2017 I aim to win my first race with the team”

Valtteri Bottas, fresh from his renewal with Williams, raises the bar for 2017. The Finnish driver born in 89, who has already been at Grove for four years, has not yet won a world championship and is aiming to move away from zero in 2017, leveraging the great opportunity of a regulatory revolution that could shuffle the cards on the table. Williams, currently fifth in the standings, is fighting with Force India for fourth place in the Constructors' Championship, but apparently its ambitions for the future are much nobler.

“I've been racing with Williams for four years, but I feel we can still move up a level and achieve something more. For the moment I am the rider with the most world championship points who has never won a GP - explained the Finn, second several times but still without a championship victory - It's a statistic that I hate, and then it would be special for me to win a GP with this team which is like a family. I feel I made the right choice to stay at Williams, the regulation change represents an excellent opportunity to close the gap with the leaders and achieve better results. I can't comment on the duration of my renewal, I can only tell you that Stroll and I will be the two starting drivers. I feel that we can do great things, taking advantage of the new rules, I am very confident."
