Toro Rosso, Vergne: “Encouraging signs from the pace”
For the Frenchman only a small battery failure in the morning
The first day in Singapore went almost smoothly for the Toro Rosso who demonstrated top ten potential in both rounds.
“I'm quite happy even though during the first session I had some battery problems so I wasn't able to ride much – he said Jean-Eric Vergne, 6th and 11th – The overall sensations are positive and the long runs are encouraging. The time recorded, however, I would say is not very representative given that I encountered traffic and I wasn't flawless."
“In general I can't complain about the performance although a better position would have been ideal – he considered Daniil Kvyat, 9th and 10th – Usually on Friday evenings we always manage to find the right solution, so I'm sure we'll do the same here in view of qualifying."
