F1 Barcelona test, day 4: Grosjean finishes at the top

For the second consecutive day it was one Lotus set the best time in the Montmelo tests.

Romain Grosjean, author of a race simulation for a total of 111 laps, clocked 1'24'067 which earned him first place on soft tires.

Behind him a Nico Rosberg which alternated between medium and hard tyres, reaching 131 laps and Daniil Kvyat with Red Bull, also very active.

Sauber fourth Felipe Nasr, like yesterday with Ericsson, in search of performance and therefore often with soft compound tyres.

Fifth position for Valtteri Bottas who, putting aside the pit stop tests, squeezed his FW37 so much that it stopped due to a fault which was then repaired on the fly when there was an hour and a half left to go.

Sixth Carlos Sainz jr. father of two of the three red flags waved on the last afternoon in Barcelona. He had to lead the way around 16pm when he turned at turn 3 and hit the wall of tyres. Taken to the medical center as a precaution, the young Spaniard then got back into his Toro Rosso to finish the race five minutes after the checked flag stopped at turn 6.

Seventh place for Sebastian Vettel, in the pits for a long time in the second part of the session and again "on the move" when it was too late to aim for the time given the events of the final moments.

The session lasted just a few kilometres Nico Hulkenberg, out with his Force India already at 15.30pm due to engine smoke.

Nono Fernando Alonso, as is now known, at the hospital for checks after the blow received in the morning and ultimately not received Jenson Button, absent from the action.
