F1 Barcelona test, day 1: in the morning – Hamilton makes himself heard

The last round of winter testing at Montmelo began amidst uncertain weather.

The morning session started with a few rays of sunshine mixed with clouds and ended around 12pm when a light and unexpected rain began to fall.

He therefore remained at the helm of the group Lewis Hamilton, author of 48 laps with hard and medium tyres, mixed this one which gave him the best time in 1'24"881. The Mercedes Englishman was also the only one with Daniil Kvyat, third, to try his luck with the intermediates in the final stages. And the Russian from Red Bull was the protagonist of a problem exiting the pit lane around 9.30am, complete with a red flag.

Fourth place for Lotus Romain Grosjean, who dedicated himself to aerodynamic evaluations such as Marcus Ericsson, one of the few to mount super softs. The Sauber also stood out for some stretches of red paint on the sides, typical for this type of analysis.

Sixth place with a time of 1'27"813 for Ferrari Kimi Raikkonen, Then Carlos Sainz jr. on Toro Rosso, able to stop the clock only around 11.30. McLaren last Jenson Button over 6" behind the world champion and with just 7 laps under his belt.
