F1 Test | AlphaTauri, 3.580 kilometers traveled in the two weeks at Montmelò
“Very productive days,” said technical director Jody Egginton
Two very productive weeks of testing for AlphaTauri, which did not encounter any particular problems during the testing days in Barcelona. Kvyat and Gasly, overall, covered 3.580 kilometers, equal to 769 laps completed. The Frenchman has around 300 km less than his teammate due to a problem he noticed on Thursday, but there is still satisfaction in the Scuderia di Faenza for what has been achieved in these tests at Montmelò
“This morning the track conditions were better than yesterday and so we were able to collect some useful data – declared Jody Egginton, technical director of AlphaTauri at the end of the sixth day of testing. Our morning's program went ahead as planned, even if the final runs were slightly affected by a small problem, which was easily resolved during the lunch break. In the afternoon we continued to collect a lot of useful data that will help us in the development and correlation processes. During the long runs we learned more about the behavior of the car and the tires, completing this part of the program using a couple of the available compounds. During the final stages of today's tests we also tried some unscheduled elements and it was very useful. Overall, all the days proved to be productive, we covered a large number of kilometers which gave us the opportunity to collect a lot of data, so that we can now concentrate completely on the imminent start of the season".
