Taffin praises Renault: “Did a great job in terms of reliability”

Remi Taffin commented positively on the performance of the Renault power unit during the last Spanish Grand Prix, the fifth round of the 2015 Formula One world championship.

In the classic press release at the end of the weekend, the current head of Renault Sport's track activities explained the enormous steps forward made by Red Bull and Toro Rosso on the Montmelò track, specifying that the reliability found in Spain satisfied the technicians of the French company.

The objective is now to improve the pure performance of the Energy F1 power unit, without obviously affecting the work done regarding the life and use of the V6 unit.

Here are the words of Remi Taffin: “The one in Spain was certainly a very positive weekend. Our single-seaters crossed the finish line without running into any technical problems and this is a truly important step for Renault, especially because it demonstrates the quality of our work. We chose a much more aggressive approach in qualifying, while we preferred caution regarding the race."

“We desperately need kilometers and for us it was essential to finish this race with all four cars. We must maintain this good base and continue to develop during the next events. The objective is to improve our performance without, obviously, penalizing reliability" he concluded.
