Renault, Palmer: “I'm very happy with my first point”

An unexpected joy for Jolyon Palmer in the Malaysian GP. The Renault driver managed to bring home the first point of his career in Formula 1. An excellent result, given the 19th place on the grid, obtained thanks to the one-stop pit strategy and the numerous twists and turns of the Sepang race . Contained joy for the French team due to the bad result of Kevin Magnussen, forced to retire due to a brake overheating problem.

“I'm really good! – said Palmer – I'm really happy to get to the points. I think the whole week was very positive. In the race everything went smoothly, I really wish it was always this simple! I was really disappointed with how qualifying went, especially because I had felt really strong all weekend. I am therefore happy that the race went very well. The car gave me everything I needed, we managed the tires well and the team did a great job with the strategy and pit stops. Finally everything went well and we brought home a tenth place."
