Agostini: “I don't understand Rosberg's decision”

The withdrawal of Nico Rosberg it shocked the world of sport even beyond the confines of four wheels with great champions interested in the reasons that led the world champion to make such a choice.

In a recent interview with Gazzetta dello Sport it was Giacomo Agostini to have his say on the subject. As a confirmed world motorcycling champion, he tried to understand more about the Mercedes driver's motivations.

“I don't understand Rosberg's decision – he admitted – I wonder if he really had a great passion or if he simply just wanted to win the title. It certainly takes courage to give up many millions but I also think of Francesco Totti who at 40 has not yet stopped. When I retired I cried for three days."

The comparison with an almost similar situation in MotoGP is easy to make: “Nico did a bit of what he did Casey Stoner he had already done, even if it was a little different for him. But it's sad to see someone who has the gift of Michelangelo throw it away."

For his part, Rosberg has repeatedly had the opportunity to respond to criticism and explain his decision in detail: “I have had a very good career, I got what I wanted and I succeeded.
