HRT, Liuzzi: “We suffered a lot from the degradation of the rear tires”
It was a clean race, i.e. without accidents, for the two HRT drivers, even if they suffered from high tire degradation.
Vitantonio Liuzzi, 23rd: “It was a really tough race, where we paid the consequences of doing practically no laps on Friday and Saturday. We did the race with a somewhat blind set-up. We suffered a lot from the degradation of the rear tyres, especially the left side, and I wasn't able to run much on any set of tyres. At the beginning it wasn't too bad and I was able to fight with the other riders, but after a few laps I had to stop. It was a tough fight and getting to the finish line was the most positive thing ever."
Daniel Ricciardo, 22nd: “The race went well considering yesterday's pace, we must be happy about the fact that we are just a few tenths behind Virgin. At one point I found myself in front, but the safety car didn't help. However, I'm happy with my performance and I'm happy with how I rode and I don't think I could have done more. The car was good; with each run we made small adjustments which helped. I'm happy for the team, because it was a good race for us. We have made good progress in the last few races and I am happy to have had a clean race."
