Force India: No sanction for di Resta for the accident on the first lap at Roggia
Just a reprimand for the Scottish driver
Paul di Resta received a reprimand for his crash on the first lap of the Italian Grand Prix. The Scotsman from Force India hit Romain Grosjean's Lotus while braking at the Roggia chicane.
Grosjean's Lotus continued without significant damage and finished the race in eighth place, but di Resta was forced to retire.
“I didn't have a vision of what was happening between the cars in front of Turn 4, I think there were some maneuvers in front,” declared di Resta.
“All this slowed down the group and I tried to maneuver to avoid the cars in front, but unfortunately I blocked a wheel.”
“It wasn't a good day, and if we count what happened yesterday with the brake failure, we'll try to forget the weekend.”
The stewards recognized that di Resta had tried to avoid a collision.
“The driver made an attempt to avoid the collision (when he saw cars braking in front), trying to pass between cars #8 and #15, but in doing so collided with car #8,” he said. said the official report.
