F1 | Toro Rosso, the team's satisfaction after the Monte Carlo weekend

There is satisfaction at Toro Rosso after the excellent result obtained in Monte Carlo. The Italian team owned by Red Bull finished in seventh and eighth place with Kvyat ahead of Albon, completing a top-level weekend on the streets of the Principality.

“From the beginning of the weekend we showed good performances in Monaco – said team principal Franz Tost. We qualified in eighth and tenth position and crossed the finish line in the race in seventh and eighth. We are very happy to have reached the top ten in a race that was as important as it was difficult. The start went well, the riders did a good first lap. After that the main objective was to preserve the tires and avoid graining. Both Dany and Alex managed to do it professionally. The strategy was good: when the Safety Car came in we stayed out, then we called our drivers to the pits at the right time, which allowed us to keep Grosjean behind. These are 10 important points for the team, so congratulations to the drivers and the whole team for a great weekend. I'm really satisfied to see four Honda-powered cars in the top eight positions. Now it's time to prepare for Canada, where we hope to continue fighting for points."

“After a positive qualifying we managed to finish the job by scoring points with both drivers – said Jody Egginton, Toro Rosso technical director. Taking into account the risk of rain, we decided to manage the tires for the first stint, so as to keep more strategic options open. The rain didn't come, but we were ready and everything went well. The drivers did a great job managing the tyres, pushing when necessary. From an operational point of view, the team did a good job: quick pit stops and good communication with the wall earned them some well-deserved points. The season is long, but the STR14 is responding well to development, so we are confident we can achieve more good results."
