F1 | Red Bull, Verstappen unhappy with COTA: "Some bumps cause the wheels to leave the ground"

Max Verstappen finished his day of free practice on the Austin circuit in third position, while in the morning he was also the fastest on the track. Only three tenths separate him from Hamilton's best time, which according to the Dutchman was achieved thanks to the slipstream of a car in front. Max is optimistic about qualifying, while regarding race pace he admits that we still need to work. His comment regarding the many bumps present at COTA is interesting, which highlights how the asphalt is in terrible condition.

“It was a positive day, and the pace on the flying lap seems quite good – Verstappen revealed. Lewis had a slipstream on the opposite straight, so I don't think the time is that significant, and the gap is smaller than it might seem. We're a little off track on long runs, I'm not entirely satisfied, we'll take a look tonight. The track becomes more and more bumpy year after year, but luckily the bumps are not located right at the braking points, but it is something that should be looked at ahead of next season. I don't mind having bumps on a street track, but some of them are quite severe and jump-like, so the wheels come off the ground. This track is very aggressive for the tyres, so we have to keep them under control."
