F1 | Kvyat signs with Lamborghini for LMDh project

The former Red Bull and AlphaTauri (formerly Toro Rosso) driver joins the Italian car manufacturer for the LMDh project. Daniil Kvyat, with Mirko Bortolotti, Andrea Caldarelli and Romain Grosjean, will compete in the WEC and IMSA starting in 2024. Throughout 2023, the drivers will be busy with testing and development work for the Lamborghini team's prototype car.

However, since the FIA does not allow drivers to race under the Russian flag after the serious events of the war in Ukraine, Kvyat, born in Ufa, will compete with an Italian racing license. The Russian has lived in Rome for years and for him it is a source of pride to be able to compete with the Tricolore:

“I am very happy to have joined the Lamborghini Squadra Corse, it is a great honor for me. Lamborghini is a very well-known Italian brand in the world, with a great history and having grown up in Italy, this is a further reason for pride for me. We hope to achieve many goals together, I thank the team for the trust placed in me and I can't wait to start working on the LMDh project this year."
