F1 | Haas, Hulkenberg: “A little tired at the end of the day, but it went better than expected”

Haas concluded its 2022 with the Abu Dhabi tests. Pietro Fittipaldi and Nico Hulkenberg took to the track on the two VF-22s, the new face of the American team replacing Mick Schumacher. The German worked mainly on the Pirelli tires that we will see in the next Formula 1 season, completing a total of 110 laps for a total of 580,91 kilometres. His fastest time was 1:27.000, nineteenth overall on the day, 1.8 seconds behind Carlos Sainz.

“It was a nice day at work – Hulk said. I collected a lot of data and formed my impressions, this was the main objective. The program has been completed successfully and there are many things to analyze in the next two weeks with the team. I tried the 2023 tires, trying to learn their characteristics. I'm very happy with this test: there was a bit of tiredness at the end of the day, but I think it went better than expected, so that's okay. Now I will have three months of intense preparation to be ready for Bahrain, I have a training plan and I know what I have to do."
