Fernando Alonso is definitely happy at the end of the day of testing in Abu Dhabi. The Spanish world champion made contact for the first time with the Aston Martin team, the team for which he will race starting next season, and it didn't take him long to immediately feel at ease and forget about a 2022 full of problems with the Alpine. One above all concerns reliability: Fernando completed 97 laps with a power unit at the end of its life without any problem, and this aspect alone fills him with joy.
"I am very satisfied - said Alonso ad AS after his day of testing. They told me how many kilometers the engine had done, I was dubious, because they were high by my standards, but I managed to complete 97 laps without any problems. I am happy and surprised by everything, and I can say that this year's car is totally different from the one we will have in 2023. Now I can say that I am more optimistic than when I signed for Aston Martin: I was 90% happy at the time, but when I saw them improve that missing 10% was added. Now, however, I can say that I am well over 100%."
