F1 | Giovinazzi: “The 2017 races won't help me”

Two years after his debut in Formula 1, the driver from Martina Franca will compete for the team next year Alfa Romeo Sauber, alongside Kimi Raikkonen.

Antonio Giovinazzi, replaced the injured person pascal wehrlein during qualifying for the Australian Grand Prix and in the following race, in China. From then on, the Italian held the role of reserve driver for Sauber and Ferrari.

Regarding the experiences made, Giovinazzi excludes that they could be of help for the next season:

“Unfortunately, a lot of time has already passed! In Australia I didn't do the whole weekend, while in China I missed the first two free practice sessions due to the rain. The approach was difficult but luckily next year will be easier, I will have the winter tests in Barcelona and I will be much better prepared when I get to Melbourne".

After the race in China last year, the driver took part in this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans with the AF Corse Ferrari GTE team and admitted that he missed the pressure of racing:

"I can't wait! I miss the pressure of the race weekend and also the race on Sunday. It will be quite difficult for the first races: I have a world champion (Kimi Raikkonen, ed.) next to me, who has many years in F1. I need to do my job, try to improve race after race, and we will see at the end of the year if we have done a good job or not.".
