F1 | Disappointment at AlphaTauri after the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix

Difficult race for AlphaTauri drivers in Jeddah. In the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, the second event of the season, Yuki Tsunoda crossed the finish line just outside the points, in eleventh position. Rookie Nyck de Vries was further back and finished fourteenth.

Yuki Tsunoda: “I crossed the finish line eleventh and it's frustrating to lose position with just four laps to go. The team did a great job, everything went perfectly. The pace with the mediums was really competitive and has improved compared to qualifying. I'm happy with what we managed to achieve, but at the same time I'm disappointed that we weren't able to take points in the end. We will come back stronger with the updates that arrive in Melbourne: we are fully focused on the next race, where we will do our best to maximize our performances. We will continue to work hard to be able to fight at the top of the midfield and start scoring points consistently."

Nyck de Vries: “I can't say I did a good job. I lost a lot of my momentum on the start and restart, so I got stuck in traffic. It is difficult to find the rhythm and recover positions, especially when you get stuck in a train of cars in the DRS area. I didn't attack enough and struggled to find the balance between speed and good tire management, so I wasn't able to get them to the right temperature. In the end, when I had a clear track and was chasing Zhou, my pace was strong and constant. Overall, it was a step up from Bahrain and that's a good thing. But we absolutely have to keep pushing and improving."
