F1 | Cosworth, Ilmor and Aston Martin wink at Formula 1
From 2021, many manufacturers could return to the Circus: Porsche is more out of the way
The new engine regulations, in force from 2021, could ensure the presence of a greater number of suppliers. To Mercedes, Ferrari, Renault and Honda, assuming they remain, other manufacturers could therefore be added who, driven by the idea of a less economically expensive Formula 1, are thinking of returning to the Circus. Primarily, Cosworth, and by the voice of the responsible director Bruce Wood, opened up this scenario: “The new proposal makes the participation of an independent company possible”. Also Ilmor, reports the with the BBC, would be evaluating a possible return, strong, like Cosworth, with a past in Formula 1.
Car picture, in the last few hours, has also reiterated the interest of Aston Martin, which will return to Formula 1 next year, even if only as title sponsor of Red Bull. Bad signals, however, emerge from Stuttgart: "Porsche in Formula 1? Not gonna happen"Said Mark Webber, former driver of the German manufacturer.
