F1 | Antonio Perez: “Checo in Formula 1 for the next ten years”
"He is the most sought after driver with the most sponsors, superior to Verstappen and Hamilton combined", the thoughts of the father of the Red Bull standard bearer
Antonio Perez has no doubts: his son will remain in Formula 1 for the next decade. The father of the current Red Bull standard bearer, discussing his son's future, admitted that the amount of sponsors brought with him is a significant magnet to focus on the driver born in 1990. Let's remember that Checo's contract expires at the end of 2024, although conversations have not yet started between the Milton Keyens team and the Mexican's entourage.
But at the same time, to a specific question about Perez, Helmut Marko responded positively, underlining the excellent work that the Mexican has done so far driving the RB20. In fact, in the five races held so far this season, Perez has always finished on the podium except for the Melbourne event where he finished fifth, making him the only Red Bull to finish.
“We will have Checo for another ten years – Checo's father declared to Relevo – Checo will be very well for the rest of his life, he will have another ten years in F1. Checo has many scenarios and is the most sought after driver in F1 today, above all he is the one with the most sponsors, more than Max and Hamilton combined."
Checo's father, completing his thoughts, added: “Companies from all over the world turn to him, the best promoter of anything in the world is Sergio Pérez. There's never anything left of his merchandise because it always sells out quickly."
