The prince of Bahrain: “Mosley is welcome here”
Max Mosley is welcome again to the Kingdom of Bahrain, as underlined by His Highness Prince Sheikh Salman bin Hamad al-Khalifa. The FIA president was asked to absent himself from the event last year as he was still dealing with the racially charged sex scandal.
Mosley, subsequently confirmed by the other members of the FIA and winner of the legal action brought against the English tabloid News of the World, absolutely does not intend to travel to Bahrain this season. Even if now he is welcome, as the prince reiterated to the Times newspaper on the Sakhir track.
"Yes, absolutely. His position was clarified and he was re-elected,” he said. “And since the case was closed with his re-election, he is the representative of the FIA and he deserves our respect and welcome.”
