Alex Lynn: “The only thing that matters is getting to Formula 1”
The Briton is currently a Williams test driver and standard bearer for DAMS in GP2
Exactly as is happening with Formula 1, GP2 also faces the month of August with its engines turned off. Surely among the young people of the cadet series, the one who will enjoy these three weeks of vacation the most is Alex lynn, currently Williams test driver and standard bearer for DAMS in GP2, winner in Hungary in the Saturday afternoon race.
The British native of Essex, after just a year of apprenticeship in youth program of Red Bull, was signed by Williams as test and managed to settle in GP2 with the DAMS team.
Despite the title obtained in GP3, Lynn's decision to leave the Milton Keynes Junior Team was dictated by the impossibility of showing off in a Formula 1 in a short time. Opportunity that he received from Williams on the occasion of the May test on the FW37, in Barcelona: “It wasn't easy for me, in my first year in GP2, to win a race but I can say that I chose the perfect moment to show off in order to be noticed by those in charge – commented the DAMS driver – I hope that my victory in Hungary can be a good springboard for the rest of the season but also for my future given that summer is the period in which the driver market seems to open up. The only thing that matters is get to Formula 1 and what I can do is continue to demonstrate my potential,” concluded Lynn.
