Webber in shape for the Silverstone grand prix

After the terrible accident in Valencia, the Australian is determined and ready to return to the track at Silverstone on July 9th.

Yesterday's accident was one of the scariest in recent years: Webber took off upon contact with Kovalainen's Lotus and hit an advertising billboard during the flight. The car hit the ground for the first time upside down and then ended its run violently against the barriers. Webber fortunately emerged from the cockpit unscathed but visibly shocked, the medical examinations found no fractures or traumas and therefore he was able to return home with some bruises. “I'm a little bruised here and there but the car held up well” said the Australian who this morning on his Twitter said he felt good and was only thinking about the next race at Silverstone: “I have a bit of swelling in a few points but I'll be fit for Silverstone."

The RB6 withstood the impact well but the dynamics of the accident reopened discussions regarding the introduction of safety devices to cover the rear wheels and prevent the single-seaters from coming into wheel-to-wheel contact.
