Vettel: “Disappointed, but Red Bull has shown potential”
The world champion in Monte Carlo suffers a lot and does not compete in Q3
Sebastian Vettel says he was disappointed with his tenth place in qualifying after using the wrong setup.
The double world champion found himself choosing not to take part in Q3 and settle for tenth place, due to the fact that he no longer had a set of Supersoft tires available. “Today was a bit of a confusing qualifying for me”, said the German from Red Bull. “It's a shame because we did very well in the morning practice. Then we took a step in the wrong direction which ended with a car that didn't do well in qualifying.".
Vettel had a very dark face when he got out of the car at the end of practice, because Red Bull effectively obtained pole: apart from the second time less than a tenth behind poleman Schumacher, the German's penalty will allow Mark Webber to start in front of everyone on the grid tomorrow. “I'm very disappointed, because Mark showed what the car can do”, the World Championship leader concluded laconically.
