Valtteri Bottas: “Renault engines are better than Cosworth ones”

Valtteri Bottas (third Williams driver) gave some information on Williams' decision on the engine change wanted this year by Grove stable.

In the last two years, the famous English team had preferred Cosworth engines as a solution for their cars.

However, for 2012 Sir Frank's team switched to Renault, which supplied (and supplies) the engines to the world champion team Red Bull, and Lotus and Caterham.

“The Renault engine is more powerful” revealed third driver Bottas.

“It is also smaller, which provides aerodynamic advantages, and also has low fuel consumption,” the pilot told Finnish broadcaster MTV3.

The twenty-two year old Finn will drive the new car, the FW34, at the Barcelona tests, and in his contract he has 15 free practice sessions to exploit.

“This season will certainly be better than the last, in which Williams experienced the worst championship in its history.”

Despite Williams' departure, Cosworth still supplies the Marussia and the HRT.
