The American will race in IndyCar at the same time

Official, Rossi third Manor driver

Not happy with his commitment to Andretti Autosport in IndyCar Alexander Rossi he agreed to double up and therefore become the first driver of the modern era to divide his time between the American series and F1.

The big boy from Nevada City was in fact called to play the reserve role for the Manor, a team for which last year he had carried out the same function except for taking part in five grand prix as an official instead of Roberto Merhi.

“After his good performances in 2015, we decided to give him a new opportunity, aware of his ability both to possibly take back the wheel in the race and to develop the single-seater. It won't be easy for him with so many appointments but we are sure he will be able to do an excellent job" - the words of the racing director Dave ryan.

“Much of my career has been dedicated to the Circus lens. Unfortunately I wasn't able to secure a seat for 2016, however I will still have the chance to compete in two categories at the highest level - the 24 year old commented - In the end only five races out of the eleven I will attend will coincide with the US season, so I'm calm ”.

The first date we will see him at will be Sochi from 29/4 to 1/5.
