Toro Rosso: a lot of work to do in Hockenheim

Toro Rosso in the rear after free practice for the Formula 1 German Grand Prix. On Friday in Hockenheim, Sebastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari achieved the 17th and 18th time respectively.

Sebastien Buemi:
“The morning session went well, the driver can make more of a difference in the wet and I got the seventh fastest time, looking competitive, but in the dry, we need to find a better set-up. Also, we have to work hard now, analyze the data and try to improve the car for tomorrow. There are a couple of new features on the car here, so we need to make the most of them. The comparison of the tires in the dry went well and we have a pretty clear picture of how to use them."

Jaime Alguersuari:
“It was an interesting day, with wet and dry conditions. We can be reasonably satisfied because we completed many laps and I'm happy not to have made any mistakes in the wet. However, my lack of experience on this track meant I couldn't make the most of the super-soft tyre, and my best lap was achieved on worn tyres, so a good lap on new tires would have made a very good difference. At least I know the track now, although my confidence wasn't as high in the changing conditions."
