Prost: “Schumacher will not be able to return to the levels he once was”

After the difficult year of his return, Alain Prost does not expect the seven-time world champion to return to the top level in 2011.

Prost, one of the most successful drivers after the 42-year-old Schumacher, last year branded the German's aim to win the title in his second career as "unrealistic".
The 55-year-old Frenchman declared that blaming his lack of speed on Bridgestone tires was nothing more than an excuse, while the real problem was his age.
Now, in an interview with the Swiss newspaper Le Matin Dimanche, Prost said: “His decision to return is personal, and I respect it. I think it's impossible, at his age, to go back to the levels we once were... but I hope he proves me wrong." The Frenchman also stated that he doesn't miss racing in F1, but admitted that he would like to drive a modern single-seater "just to evaluate the technological development, which has always fascinated me".
