Pirelli: the compounds chosen by the riders for the Malaysian GP

With the introduction of the new regulation regarding increase tyres, Pirelli brings three different types of compounds to each event and each team (and each driver) will be able to choose which combination to bring for the thirteen sets available.

For Malaysian Grand Prix, Pirelli will bring the hardest combination available, which includes the compounds Soft (yellow band), Medium (white band) and Hard (orange band).

For this event there are no major differences, with the top teams having chosen a similar configuration: for Ferraris and Mercedes seven sets of soft tires with different choices among the riders regarding medium and hard, while in Red Bull it was preferred to have one set less than the softest compound set to make a more balanced choice.
