McLaren, Alonso: “Limit radio teams? We will become robots"

Among the innovations introduced in this new season, the limitation of communications between drivers and their track engineers stands out. For Fernando Alonso the introduction of this new rule will transform drivers into authentic robots.

“I don't understand why this restriction was approved – declared the Spaniard while chatting with journalists in the Melbourne paddock – . Most radio communications are created to ensure the correct functioning of the car. I don't think all this will allow us drivers to have more influence during the races. All this, however, will lead us to be similar to robots. From a purely strategic point of view, we will have less freedom of action. Compared to the recent past, we will follow the strategy established before the race more".

"F1 has indeed taken a strange path – the accusation of the two-time world champion - . In the age of technology, information and communication, F1 has limited its use. This is a difficult decision to understand".
