Grosjean: “A stupid mistake”

Yet another accident at the start for the Frenchman

Romain Grosjean has declared that he will try to put his umpteenth mistake at the start behind him. At Suzuka the Frenchman hit Mark Webber at the first corner and at the end of the race the Australian defined him as "the crazy guy on the first lap".

Webber ended up spinning after the contact but managed to continue, finishing in eighth position while Grosjean did not go beyond 15th position.
Yet the Lotus driver ensured that he was very cautious at the start since his return to Singapore after the disqualification imposed on him for the Monza race following the accident caused at Spa.

“Ever since I returned to Singapore, my priority has been to be very cautious at the start,” explained Grosjean. “I was looking at Sergio Perez on my left to make sure I didn't touch him. There was a big speed difference between me and Mark Webber when I went into the first corner and that took me by surprise and we touched. It was a stupid mistake. Mark came to me after the race and obviously he wasn't happy, but I apologized and we have to move on. We will sit down and look at what happened again before the next race to understand what we can improve in these situations."
