Graziano Rossi: “Valentino was very close to moving to F1”

The father of Valentino Rossi, Graziano, admitted that the Doctor was “very, very close” to become an F1 driver about ten years ago: “Many years ago there was more of a conversation between Valentino and the Circus: he seriously thought about landing in Formula 1. He had tried Ferrari several times, but then his love for motorbikes prevailed. I don't know what career he would have had in F1, but thanks to that choice he is still number 1 in the world in MotoGP.", as revealed on the official MotoGP website.

Valentino therefore thought more than once about "changing" his engine, moving on to four wheels, only to then continue with his great passion: “The only thing comparable to MotoGP is F1, everything else would have been a step backwards, but he didn't do it because his love for MotoGP was too great”, he confessed. But, yes you know, Valentino Rossi has always been linked to motorbikes, since he was a child: “I remember one time he was about ten years old and he had to run a race. He had won pole and could have chosen which way to start. I went to him there to give him some advice and he said 'Dad, leave it to me'. Since that day I haven't said anything to him about it anymore."he concluded.
