Formula 1 | Glock: “The generational struggle between expert and young pilots is interesting”

Formula 1 can live peacefully for the next 15 years. The generational change of drivers on the track is in full swing, and young people like Verstappen (already champion), Russell and Leclerc are ensuring spectacular seasons for us. On the other hand we still have the great champions, such as Hamilton and Alonso, who have not the slightest intention of giving way, at least in the near future.

“It's really interesting to see Formula 1 today – said Timo Glock to Beyond The Grid. There are important generational battles: we see the talent of Leclerc and Russell and how they managed to get there by moving up from the junior categories, then we have Max, who started racing so early in the top competition. The way he dominates is incredible, just as he fought against Lewis, but at the same time the more experienced ones, and I'm including Alonso, want to beat the youngsters. It was interesting to hear Russell, the way he approaches the weekend, he is super focused and precise, he understands the races, the strategies and how to manage the tyres. When young kids get close to their idols, in the Englishman's case it's obviously Hamilton, they have the chance to learn a lot, and it's crazy to see how quickly they do it."
