Ferrari: Wind and rain affect free practice in Melbourne

Australian GP (free practice) – Intermittent rain and strong gusts of wind also characterized the second free practice session in Melbourne, the scene of the first world championship event of the season. On the semi-permanent circuit hosted by Albert Park, the bad weather conditions did not allow for much action, limiting the work of the Scuderia drivers to a systems check. Only seven laps on intermediate tires were the balance for both in the only outing, new for Kimi Raikkonen – third in 1.39.486 – and used for Sebastian Vettel, who finished with the eighth fastest time (1.40.761). Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes still dominated the session (1.38.841), ahead of Nico Hulkenberg's Force India (1.39.308).
