F1 | Ricciardo warns Vettel: “Going to a mid-table team requires patience”

What will be the future of Sebastian Vettel? While waiting for this question to be answered, Daniel Ricciardo discussed his former teammate from his time at Red Bull.

For the Australian, currently at Renault but close to moving to McLaren, the four-time world champion - who seems close to signing with Racing Point - could find himself in a completely new situation: no longer fighting for victory after years spent at the top. Something certainly new, also experienced by Ricciardo after the move from Red Bull to Renault.

"Seb's career has always been lived ahead. Every year in F1 he has always fought even if he hasn't always won – underlined Ricciardo -. Going to a mid-grid team would mean going to a foreign land. It requires patience, but it depends entirely on him".

Ricciardo, completing his analysis, then added: “If he still has the will and drive to compete at the highest level then he should continue in the sport. But if it concerns the center of the group it is normally a longer game. You have to show commitment not just for 12 months, but two or three years. But it's something only he could answer. As his former teammate, I like Seb and respect him. I hope he finds a place where he is happy".
