F1 | Red Bull, Verstappen excited for Suzuka: “Decent opportunities for the weekend”

Interviewed by the official Red Bull website, Max Verstappen spoke about the next Japanese Grand Prix, the seventeenth round of this 2018 Formula 1 world championship, underlining how the characteristics of the Suzuka track should adapt well to those of the RB14.

The Japanese circuit, in fact, requires a high level of aerodynamic load, a factor that could push Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo to compete on equal terms with Mercedes and Ferrari. The Dutchman, we remember, is coming off an excellent comeback in Sochi and aims to replicate those performances in Mie too.

Here are the words of Max Verstappen: “We have had some good results in the past so I am looking forward to returning to Japan. The objective, obviously, will be to obtain good results in terms of points and performance. Until you go on track it's impossible to know how competitive you can be, but in general our car should be well suited to the first sector."

“With a good strategy we could have some decent opportunities this weekend. As for my favorite stretch, however, it is certainly the series of them in the first sector. You have to be fast and have a good set-up", he added. “Furthermore, the cheering gives us a great boost throughout the weekend and there is a truly historic atmosphere here”.

“The Suzuka circuit is one of my favorite tracks and it's always a great experience to see the fans. We hope that the typhoon stays away and that we have a weekend to remember."he concluded.
